In the middle of working ’83, celebrity Ranveer Singh has signed another movie. He’ll play with a Gujarati at Yash Raj Films‘ (YRF) Jayeshbhai Jordaar, to be helmed by debutant writer-director Divyang Thakkar.
The celebrity calls it a “miracle script”. The job, a funny entertainer set in Gujarat, has been made by YRF’s homegrown producer Maneesh Sharma, who also found Divyang, and it’ll go on flooring this October.
Describing the movie, Ranveer states:”‘Jayeshbhai…’ is a film with a big heart. In its concept as well as in its appeal, it encompasses the broadest spectrum of the cinema-loving audience – it’s a film for everyone. It is, in fact, a ‘miracle script’ that YRF found for me out of nowhere. The sheer brilliance of the writing compelled me to immediately green-light this film. Both humorous and poignant, ‘Jayeshbhai…’ is right up there with the most solid on-paper material I’ve ever come across.”

Ranveer has been on a roll in the market and has worked with high filmmakers such as Sanjay Leela Bhansali, Rohit Shetty, Zoya Akhtar and Kabir Khan. After gathered nationwide love as a celebrity across all demographics, it was normal for him to back a beginner.
He explained: “I’ve been tremendously blessed to have collaborated with a number of the best filmmakers of the nation. It’s humbling and gratifying they thought in my craft and picked me to direct their cinematic vision. All I have attained as a celebrity today is because of such titanic cinematic forces using their faith in me. I am glad that now I find myself in a situation where I will recognize exceptional ability and reunite the fantasy of a dazzling new writer-director such as Divyang.”
Jayeshbhai Jordaar will be Ranveer’s next release after’83, where the actor is going to be viewed as former Indian cricket team captain Kapil Dev. Sharma stated Thakkar’s script is a good example of equilibrium of a pertinent message delivered in a fun way.
“What makes this a truly thrilling venture is that I see this as Ranveer and I paying it forward’. Almost a decade ago, we started our journey together when YRF placed their faith in us newcomers and today we collaborate with another new talent to offer the audiences a content-driven mass entertainer,” added Sharma, who led Ranveer within their inaugural movie “Band Baaja Baaraat”.
