The Storyline Of Axone Netflix Movie
With the Northeast Actors and a famous face in the World of Web Series “Sayani Gupta,” Nicholas Kharkongor portrays the never-ending Prejudice exists in our society towards other culture & people like Northeast Indians. Based on his own experience when he was in Delhi, Kharkongor manages to describe the kind of racism and stereotypes faced by Northeast people living in metro cities like Delhi, Mumbai, Bangalore, etc., with a touch of humor.
The story of Axone Movie revolves around the group of Northeast youngsters living in Himayunpur of South Delhi. The 90-minutes long movie revolves around the struggles faced by a group of youngsters who wants to cook a special dish on their friend’s wedding, using Smoked Pork and Akhuni/Axone (a fermented soybean paste used in Northeast Dishes to give a unique aroma & taste).

South Delhi’s Humayunpur is known as the Outpost of the Northeast People, where you can find plenty of Tibetan and Chinese Restaurants and clusters of Northeast youngsters. That is why Kharkongor chose this location to shot Axone Movie. Kharkongor, whose origin is of Khasa and Nagi, wanted to portray the Prejudice exists in our society in the form of racism, classism, castism and he did that perfectly in the form of Axone Movie.
Talking about Cast & their performances, the majority of the actors are from Northeast to give a realistic feeling. It was not an easy task to cast all the Northeast actors in this industry, that is why the makers focused on larger and more objective cast actors like Tenzin from Tibetan Origin.
The main attraction of the movie Sayani Gupta did the fabulous job of playing the role of Upasana (a Nepali girl from Manipur).
