EXCLUSIVE: International sales company Visit Films has boarded well-received Sundance film Dinner In America.

See has obtained entire world rights excluding U.S. and Canada for its grungy rom-com, which had its world premiere in Sundance’s US Contest department. Visit will be viewing the movie on the marketplace in the Berlinale.

Set in a dull Midwestern suburb, the movie follows punk rocker Simon (a lauded performance from Kyle Gallner) who’s on the run again following a heated confrontation ends with him setting fire to a family’s front yard. Meanwhile, bizarre loner Patty (Emily Skeggs) resides in the home with no friends and no long run, spending most of her nighttime composing erotic love letters into the disguised singer of her favourite group Psyops. A chance encounter brings Patty and Simon collectively, though Patty does not recognize that Simon is your anonymous singer she has been professing her love . Feeling a flicker of rebellion (and attraction), both outcasts set out to take all of the liars, bullies, and conformists who’ve made their lives hell.

Also exhibits are Pat Healy, Griffin Gluck, Lea Thompson, and Mary Lynn Rajskub.

The characteristic is composed and directed by Adam Carter Rehmeier, who previously wrote and directed The Bunny Game. Manufacturers are Ben Stiller, Nicholas Weinstock, David Hunter, Ross Putman, John Covert, and Sam Slater.
