Like many horror movies, cast of Smile movieare played by people you may have seen before, but they aren't big names. In Smile, the actors do a great job of balancing the characters' approaching doom with the scary unknown of mental health, so it's important to know who they are and what they've done before.
Smile's plot is similar to that of The Ring, but it gives the subgenre of stories about curses that can be passed on a new twist by focusing on how stress affects people personally. In the movie, a patient gives a therapist a smile curse that she has to deal with. The visual of a smile is a good idea for a horror movie theme since a smile is usually a sign of happiness. However, in Smile, the smile is a very serious warning.
The sneak peek of Parker Finn's first feature film, Smile, was put to YouTube in June of this year. This high-concept horror film drew the attention of the internet and made people curious about it. Smile is about Dr. Rose Cotter, who is being chased by a scary magical force that takes the form of people smiling around her. Rose seems to be infected by a patient who says she can see people smiling at her when no one else can.
The movie has already been compared to well-known horror movies like It Follows and The Ring because of its plot, which is about an unseen fear that threatens an early death. Finn said in a featurette that was posted earlier this month that he wanted to make "a film that feels like an escalating nightmare." If his past work is any sign, he can definitely write about scary nightmares.
A psychiatrist named Dr. Rose Cotter helps people in a hospital. When a patient kills herself in front of Rose during an appointment, it hits a nerve. After yelling about something Rose can't see, the little girl's face changes into a creepy smile while she holds a broken piece of a pot. The way the body is wrapped in the trailer makes it look like the person had a big smile on her face and neck.
Rose starts to feel the effects of this event. Everywhere she goes, she sees people with smiles that look a lot like her patients. She wants to know what was bothering the girl and now what is bothering her. At her job, when she walks by the room of another patient, he has the same smile on his face. When she tries to wake him up from the trance he seems to be in, he starts saying that she is going to die, which seems to tell her where the journey will end.
Someone helps her find 20 people whose lives are like hers so she can understand what she's going through. One of them is the only one left. After she tells the survivor that she sees the smiles, he refuses to see her again. From the security video, her friend gets, it looks like the other victims, like her patient, hurt themselves in front of other people.
There are hints in the trailer that Rose will get hurt before she finds out the answer to her question. In one scene, gauze is wrapped around both of the character's forearms, but the viewer doesn't find out why. During a meeting with someone who seems to be her therapist, she sees the smile, and the person she's trying to get help from seems to try to strangle her.
Will Rose find a way to stop the smile from happening before it's too late? The first summary of the story shows that the smiles and what they do are part of a magical force, or at least that's what Rose thinks. Will she figure out what caused the event to start?
After a bizarre, traumatic event involving a patient, a psychiatrist begins to experience terrifying occurrences that only she can see, and grows increasingly convinced that she’s being pursued by a malevolent supernatural force.
