Back in January 2019, the National Enquirer tabloid vulnerable that Jeff Bezos was having a affair by publishing the Amazon CEO’s intimate texts and threatening to print more photos.

The newspaper, owned by American Media Inc (AMI), in the time asserted that the source was that the brother of Bezos’ girlfriend Lauren Sanchez. Bezos wasn’t convinced, and tasked with his private investigator, Gavin De Becker, to dig deeper.

One year after, the scandal is back in the public eye.

On Tuesday, The Guardian reported that Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman had blasted into Bezos’ telephone with spyware by means of a WhatsApp video message on May 1, 2018. This could happen to be eight months prior to the Enquirer’s exposé.

Over a few months, dozens of kilobytes of information was downloaded in Bezos’ telephone, the Financial Times reported, citing the results of a forensic analysis on the telephone.

In a February 2019 blog post, Bezos suggested he suspected Saudi participation from the Enquirer’s sourcing, also accused the tabloid of blackmail. (The Saudi authorities had increased to dislike Bezos since the Washington Post, which Bezos possesses, was publishing a collection of posts by a critic of this realm, Jamal Khashoggi.)

Bezos explained the Enquirer advised him to stop exploring how it obtained its information, and deny any political motive or have romantic photographs of himself leaked.

Back in March 2019, De Becker wrote at a story for The Daily Beast he had reasoned Saudi Arabia had obtained Bezos’ private info, prior to the Enquirer’s story, which he had advised law enforcement.

There is not any hard evidence demonstrating that as of now. The two the Saudi embassy at Washington DC and AMI deny civic participation.

However, the association between the Enquirer’s proprietorDavid Pecker, along with the Saudi regime is encouraging queries.

Pecker has cultivated ties with Saudi Arabia and Crown Prince Mohammed because 2016, when President Donald Trump — a vital ally of Pecker’s — won election to the White House.

Back in March 2018, Pecker’s AMI produced 200,000 copies of a 97-page glossy magazine extolling the”magic” of the crown prince’s reformed Saudi Arabia.

The deadline below hints at a link between the Enquirer, Saudi Arabia, along with the hack of Bezos’ phone.
