Kesari Movie Review
As you already know, the Kesari full movie is based on true events. Akshay Kumar can be seen playing the character of Havildar Ishar Singh, the soldier who led the battle of Saragarhi. There is no denying that Akshay Kumar has done justice to the role. With his acting skills, he has tried to bring out the main essence of the character.
There is a moment of intrigue in the movie when Singh’s disciplinarian character is mocked and he is called ‘sala angrez’ by his subordinates. But this leads to a rather strange situation where Singh is seen lying about the orders he received. He asked his men to keep fighting but not for the Englishmen.
Singh then gets himself a non-regulation turban, saffron in colour. This helped the audience to know him in the battle scenes amongst other soldiers. The best part of the film is the battle scene where men are seen fighting with valour. They are seen using chakrams, which is a deadly circular weapon forming halos. The Sikhs mainly use it in their martial arts.
The action scenes in the movie are truly sad. The battle scenes are filled with blood with soldiers dying and some gruesome shots. It’s a fight between 21 soldiers against 10000 Pashtun invaders who are seen taking turns in the shooting.
The look of Singh played by Akshay Kumar looked quite authentic, including the other soldiers. They were asked to grow their beards and hair for the movie to give it a more realistic look.
After seeing the movie, one cannot stay without saluting the soldier of the Saragarhi battle. This group of 21 angry men proved that nothing is impossible if you have the will to do it. They fought without fear until the end. This movie upholds our great past. Anurag Singh, as the director of the movie, has done a great job. He has portrayed the right amount of emotions and anger in the movie. Overall, the movie proved to be a great tribute to the Saragarhi soldier.
