The National Transportation Safety Board has published an investigative upgrade on the tragic helicopter accident which took the lives of L.A. Lakers legend Kobe Bryant, 41, his 13-year old girl Gianna, along with others on Jan. 26. It comprised a tragic final picture of the Sikorsky S-76B chopper evaporating into thick fog, taken out of a safety camera. A witness afterward shared a photograph with the bureau of this chunk of fire which erupted when the helicopter crashed into a hillside at Calabasas. The preliminary study on the crash remains pending.
The witness told NTSB investigators he heard the noise of the chopper getting nearer, then found it emerge in the clouds. The report says that the witness watched that the helicopter roll on its left so the bottom was observable. It then drifted into a ball of flames about 50 feet . The upgrade gave no sign of motor failure, since the motor had been powering the rotors up until the instant of impact, based on the investigation of the crash site and announcements in the crash’s witness. The agency has asked for assistance from the general public by sending photos of the weather in the area and time of the wreck, as bad visibility has been one of the principal focuses of this investigation.
“Our researchers have developed a significant quantity of evidence regarding the conditions of this horrible accident,” NTSB Chairman Robert L. Sumwalt explained in an announcement into the book. “And we’re convinced that we’ll have the ability to ascertain its origin in addition to any variables that led to it we could make safety recommendations to prevent accidents such as this from happening.” A complete report on the wreck in the NTSB may take as much as a year until it is released. Researchers will further examine weather conditions, both the pilot and his institution’s history, and some other potential mechanical troubles.
