Sharing a photograph of himself sitting on a couch when holding his stomach and eating food with a laptop in front of himCulkin quipped about how different things would be if he returned as the primary character. “That is exactly what an upgraded Home Alone would actually look like,” he captioned the picture.
Disney CEO Bob Iger first announced a Home Alone reboot is in the works through a conference call on Aug. 6. The film – which is now under the corporation’s umbrella because Disney acquired 21st Century Fox in March – will soon be on the approaching streaming platform Disney+. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Iger disclosed the service will home other remakes, including Night in the Museum, Cheaper by the Dozen, and also Diary of a Wimpy Kid. “We’re also focused on leveraging Fox’s vast library of excellent titles to further enhance the material mix on our [direct to customer ] platforms,” he said.
