Netflix to Showcast 'Magic: The Gathering' Animated Series produced by Russo Brothers

After devoting seven decades of the lifetime to the Marvel Cinematic Universe, the Russo Brothers are going to make a radical shift. However, can Joe and Anthony Russo deliver their”Avengers: Endgame” magical to a different imaginative franchise? Magic is certainly the keyword Netflix execs are banking on.

The siblings’ next job will be teaming up with all The Coast and Hasbro’s Allspark Cartoon to make an original animated series based on the mythical trading card game “Magic: The Gathering.” Much is known concerning the show nonetheless — no official name, no throw, nor premiere date was announced — but it’s going to be an animated show, which might open up fascinating possibilities for all of the magic effects required.

“Magic: The Gathering” is a classic card game launched in 1993 and created by Richard Garfield. Each game represents a struggle between wizards called Planeswalkers who cast spells, use artifacts, and summon monsters to defeat their foe. The game benefits dedication and tactical thinking. The Russos will executive produce the show and produce an all-new narrative whilst expanding on the current Planeswalker stories.

“We have been huge fans and players of ‘Magic: The Gathering’ for as long as it has been around, so being able to help bring these stories to life through animation is a true passion project for us,” stated the Russos.

Octopie will oversee the creation of this show, together with Todd Makurath, Eric Calderon, and Dave Newberg serving as manufacturers, and Mike Larocca and Isaac Krauss serving as executive producers. Henry Gilroy (“Star Wars Rebels,””Star Wars: The Clone Wars”) and Jose Molina (“The Tick,” “Agent Carter”) will function as direct authors and co-executive manufacturers on the show, and Yoriaki Mochizuki will function as supervising director and co-executive manufacturer. Animation on the show is going to be carried out by Bardel Entertainment.

Despite their latest sojourn from the MCU, the Russos are not any strangers to tv. Even though the majority of their little screen credits fall in the comedy group — such as “Arrested Development,” “Happy Endings,” and “Community” — they’ve also produced “HarmonQuest” and Syfy’s “Deadly Class” on the dream.

The sport has amassed over 38 million fans worldwide so far and has been published in 11 languages in over 70 nations.
