One Piece: Plot Summary (One Piece Watching Guide)

Monkey D. Luffy was an ordinary boy (well, at least, that’s what we thought when the series started!) living in a small village called Foosha on the island of Goa. He was imparted principles and ways of living life by three people his grandfather the mountain bandit Curly Dadan and the Pirate Emperor Shanks.

Once, Luffy gulped a devil fruit that changed his body into that of rubber. Every devil fruit could impart special characteristics to a human but subsequently took away their ability to swim. However, after swallowing the devil fruit and getting strange powers that were similar to the characteristics of rubber, Luffy swore to become the King of Pirates just like his brothers.

When Luffy was merely seventeen, he left his village behind to pursue his dream of becoming the Pirate King. And don’t get it wrong it wasn’t for the treasure nor the gold or fame, but the independence and to carry on the legacy of the ‘Gold’ Roger.

On his way, he encountered various people through various incidents, and befriended them, making them a part of his journey too. First, there was Zoro, who saved Luffy’s life once and aspires to become the finest swordsman with his special three-style sword fighting tactics.

Then there was Nami who was the ship navigator and expert, who was rescued by Luffy once and taken into the team. There was Usopp, who joined the crew when the three saved his village from a devastating attack. Sanji was the ship’s cook, whose restaurant Luffy and his friends saved from being attacked by the pirates. you will miss all this drama in onepiece filler list.

We can never miss out on Chopper, who was the ship’s doctor. The chopper had the most interesting background story. He was actually a reindeer who accidentally swallowed a devil’s fruit called Hito Hito no MI which gave him human-like capabilities and intelligence and turned him into one. Tired of being treated like an outcast and shunned all the time, he joined Luffy and his team when he realized that he could feel at home with them.

Robin joins Luffy and his team when she was trying to take her life but Luffy saved her. She aspires to become a historian. And unearth and record the true history which has been written in Poneglyphs.

Then there was Brook, who was allegedly dead fifty years ago but was resurrected when he swallowed the Yomi Yomi no Mi a devil fruit that can bring dead people back to life to give them a second chance at it.

His crew also had Franky, who was basically a cyborg who built his body from scratch and even built Luffy and his crew his ship The Thousand Sunny. His dream is to see his shop make it till the end of the Grand Line and also carry the Pirate King’s crew.

The anime entails the story of the Strawhats and their journeys that they undertake while voyaging along the Grand Line. They stumble across clues and one clue leads them to the next, eventually promising them to lead towards their treasure One Piece. It also includes meeting Gold Roger’s old crewmates and befriending new people.

And there’s also a lot of action sequences if you’re particularly a fan of it. The crew fights other pirates, such as the ones associated with the government, namely, Shichibukai and Yonko. They also fight other powerful officials such as the Marines, Admirals and Vice Admirals.

However, the main focus and probably the soul of the story is the crew visiting different islands and befriending new people, uncovering legends and creating deeper bonds. It isn’t just fights and flings and friendships it goes much deeper than just that. And that’s exactly what keeps you glued to it, and has made it loved worldwide too. we have placed all filler episodes in one piece above for your ease to check.
