If you want your television episodes severely desaturated, faintly Jason Bateman-flavored, and just a smidgeon of a polo shirt, you'll probably breeze through Ozark Season 4, Part 1 with ease. The first half of Netflix's last season of the Midwestern crime-and-drugs thriller premiered in January, marking the beginning of the second half of the series. Given that the most recent set of episodes had two significant character deaths, a betrayal that we didn't see coming, and a legendary Ruth Langmore freak out, we can't say that we blame you for coming here and requesting more.

Ozark's final episodes will be released on Netflix at a later date, according to the streaming service. The following is all you need to know about Ozark Season 4, Part 2, including its release date, storyline specifics, significant nuggets from interviews with the cast and creators, as well as other important information about the show.

This article contains a spoiler for Ozark Season 4, Part 1.

What Happened To Ozark Season 4 Part 1?

Ozark, the Netflix criminal drama, has never failed to keep us fascinated, and it's back with more money and more issues this time around. Over the course of the program, the Byrde family has had their wits tested to the extreme, with season three alone seeing them pushed to the edge for the sake of their money-laundering enterprise.

Marty was kidnapped and tortured by the drug lord himself, Omar Navarro, who hasn't finished with his star accountant and Wendy just yet. Omar Navarro is also after Marty's girlfriend, Wendy. To rescue their family from being massacred by the cartel, the Byrde matriarch was forced to do the unthinkable: she ordered a hit on her own brother Ben, who was a member of the family.

Having returned to the scene of the crime following the murder of Navarro lawyer Helen Pierce, things are going to get very serious for them. The first episode of season four opens with the pair rinsing Helen out of their hair in the shower. Moments later, they're negotiating with Navarro in exchange for their liberation. Nonetheless, in order to accomplish this, they must first broker a deal between Navarro and the FBI, in which the mass-murdering criminal lord walks off without a hitch.

After accomplishing this seemingly difficult task, they are thrown into a rocky ride that comes to a grinding end with the death of a Langmore, the capture of the cartel's leader, and the planned extradition of another criminal. Watch the trailer below.

Hanging Threads Of Part 1

The fourth season of Ozark began with a flash-forward scene. As the Byrdes prepared to leave the Ozarks and return to Chicago, they encountered a problem. Unfortunately for them, they were driven off the road when a semi-truck drove into their lane, putting their futures in the hands of fate.

As the episode progressed, it found the Byrdes in Navarro's compound, where the latter had assigned them with the goal of assisting him in obtaining immunity and the freedom to travel freely between Mexico and the United States. However, after Navarro was caught, it resulted in his nephew, Javi, taking over as the new leader of the organization.

The moment he arrived, Javi started to work, shooting and murdering many people, including Darlene Snell and Wyatt Langmore, who were both refusing to quit drug cultivation. Ruth Langmore arrived at the Byrde residence after discovering their dead and demanded to know who was responsible for their deaths. Ruth ran out of the house with her rifle as soon as Jonah Byrde dropped his name, ignoring his parents' cautions. She was out to do retribution.

When Will Ozark Season 4, Part 2 Premiere?

We won't have to wait long to witness the conclusion of the Byrdes' story: Ozark Season 4 Part 2 will premiere on April 29, 2022, with the first half premiering on April 29, 2021. Fans who have been paying attention may have noted Jason Bateman's (Marty Byrde) comment during a January interview with Jimmy Kimmel that the release date had not yet been confirmed, but that it "will be relatively soon, I guess," when he said that the film will be released "in the near future." It's also possible that Ozark's creators were hoping to bring the final season into the running for an Emmy in 2022; they'll need to have shown the entire season by May 31 in order to fulfill eligibility requirements.

On February 23, Netflix published an unnerving trailer for the second installment of Stranger Things. See the complete video clip below.

What Will Season 4, Part 2 Of Ozark Be About?

Now that you've seen Season 4, Part 1, you should have a fairly clear notion of what's going to happen. However, they have seen Omar Navarro basically overthrown in the meanwhile (we're still not sure why Maya Miller went rogue and blew everything up), and the much more dangerous Javi is now in control of the cartel and cooperating with the FBI, a situation that the Byrdes have successfully negotiated.

Before long, it appeared like the Byrdes would be driving out into the sunset until Javi decided to be a full loose cannon and show up at Darlene Snell and Wyatt Langmore's house shortly after their hasty marriage. Javi killed them both because he was enraged because they had refused to comply with his command to cease selling heroin.

Ruth returned home and discovered their dead; she didn't seem to care that Darlene had finally been put to death (and we can't really blame her), but she was completely devastated and horrified by the fact that poor Wyatt had been killed in cold blood. Her first call was to Frank Jr. (since the two of them now had a nice connection), but he said that he was not guilty, and she trusted him. The Byrde residence is the next destination.

RUth was understandably enraged when he arrived (and, man, Julia Garner was acting her ass off). The Byrdes were deafeningly quiet until Jonah, with his rebellious nature, spilled the beans to Ruth about Javi. Ruth received a stern warning from Marty and Wendy not to tamper with Javi, but she is enraged and probably doesn't give a damn. Ruth has lost Ben, she has lost her father, her uncle, and her cousin (who also happens to be her best friend), and she doesn't have much left to lose. She's harboring a grudge, and Season 4, Part 2 will be dubbed "The Season of the Ruth" because of it.

And, of course, we can't forget about the scenario that introduced Season 4, Part 1: when the Byrde family was involved in a tragic vehicle accident at an unspecified date in the future. We'll see what occurs in such situation.

What To Expect From Ruth Langmore In The Final Season Of Ozark?

Ruth severed relations with the Byrdes during the third season of Ozark, claiming that they had failed to protect her a number of times, notably when she was savagely attacked by Frank Cosgrove Jr. (Joseph Sikora). Now, it appears that she has teamed up with Darlene Snell (Lisa Emery), who has been resurrecting her drug-trafficking business.

"In Season 4, [Ruth] tries to reclaim the freedom she had before the Byrdes came into her life," Garner said to IndieWire. She came to the realization that she was more autonomous and powerful without the Byrdes. She was under the impression that she would be stronger with the Byrdes, but this was not the case. She's coming to terms with it, and that's what Season 4 is going to be about."

Ozark Season 4 Part 2 Cast- Who's In It?

In true Ozark tradition, we lost a few characters in season four. The following characters were not invited to the part-two celebration due to their inability to maintain a steady pulse:

Corrupt sheriff John Nix (Robert C Treveiler), who was shot and killed by Navarro's loose-cannon nephew Javi Elizonndro (Alfonso Herrera) when he started snooping about into the disappearance of Helen Pierce, was played by Robert C Treveiler and Alfonso Herrera. A gunshot was also fired into the chest of KC mafia leader Frank Cosgrove senior (John Bedford Lloyd) during a fight with Darlene Snell, who later became Langmore (Lisa Emery).

Darlene receives her comeuppance later on in the story when she is shot by Javi for refusing to shut down her drug operation, which is ultimately discovered. Wyatt Langmore (Charlie Tahan) finds himself in the sights and receives a gunshot as a result of his unfortunate circumstance of being in the wrong place at the wrong time. So, who is the last man or woman standing?

As it turns out, all four members of the Byrde family — Mary, Wendy, Jonah (Skylar Gaertner), and Charlotte (Sofia Hublitz) – have made it to the last lap of the race. On top of that, Omar Navarro (Felix Solis), Ruth Langmore (Julia Garner), and FBI Special Agent Maya Miller (Julia Garner) will be there to cheer on the Byrdes when they cross the finish line. Even though Jim (Damian Young) has advanced to the position of Byrdes' lawyer, he manages to evade execution while being threatened by Javi.

In contrast to his father, Frank Cosgrove Jr (Joseph Sikora) does not suffer the same fate. Trevor Evans (McKinley Belcher III), an FBI agent and Petty's old boyfriend, has only made a fleeting cameo in the first episode, and we expect to see more of him in the second. Two of the main characters, Three Langmore (Carson Holmes) and Sam Dermody (Kevin L Johnson), are still on board. As for Helen's daughter Erin (Madison Thompson), she is still alive for the time being, but she may not be for much longer if she continues to pursue the issue of her mother's murder.

Conclusion

When it comes to what the Ozark season 4 part 2 trailer displays, the major emphasis on Ruth is both significant and not particularly surprising given the character's history. Her cousin Wyatt Langmore (Charlie Tahan) and Darlene were killed at the end of Ozark season 4 part 1, which concluded the season.

Now that Ruth has lost the only person she truly cared about, Ozark season 4 part 2 can resume up where part 1 left off as she seeks vengeance against Javi and the rest of the characters. The combination of Ruth's vindictive ambitions, the Byrde family's desire to flee the cartel, and Javi's repositioning as the cartel's leader should put Ozark season 4 part 2 in a strong position to bring this tale to a thrilling and surprising conclusion.
