EXCLUSIVE: Seberg screenwriters and husband and wife writing spouses Anna Waterhouse and Joe Shrapnel happen to be put by 20th Century Studios to accommodate the Agatha Christie classic And Then There Were None. Disney will continue to keep the movie in its pre-World War II period where Christie wrote the book, but with a brand new take.

Christie’s book tells the story of ten apparently disparate individuals invited to an isolated island, together with the home guests killed one by one throughout the course of the stay. The book has sold over 100 million copies in eight languages.

I am told this is going to be a freestanding job rather than a third installation of Christie’s Hercule Poirot mysteries that started with Murder on the Orient Express and proceeds with Death on the Nile, with Kenneth Branagh again starring and directing.

Shrapnel and Waterhouse recently signed with Legendary to accommodate The fantastic Machine, dependent on the Brian K. Vaughn sci-fi comic book Ex Machina. The duo most recently accommodated Dame Daphne Du Maurier’s classic gothic novel Rebecca, for Netflix and Working Title. Pic is in place, and Ben Wheatley led Lily James, Armie Hammer and Kristin Scott Thomas. Seberg, together with Kristen Stewart playing actress Jean Seberg, premiered at the Venice Film Festival last autumn for Amazon.

Shrapnel and Waterhouse were brought to perform significant manufacturing work on Marvel/Disney’s Captain Marvel and they’re currently doing production work Snake Eyes for Paramount Pictures. They also accommodated The Aftermath for Searchlight and manufacturer Ridley Scott, according to Rhidian Brooks’s book of the identical title, starring Kiera Knightley, Alexander Skarsgård and Jason Clark.

Shrapnel and Waterhouse are repped by Grandview, Curtis Brown and Marks Law Group.
