Sony Pictures Television signs a contract with British Indian Producer Nisha Parti

Sony Pictures Television has struck a co-development and co-production deal with The Lady with the Topknot Manufacturer Nisha Parti.

The Hollywood studio has a 3-year deal to operate with Parti to create scripted dramas for cable, network and streaming programs. The jobs will be co-produced involving the 2 businesses with Sony dispersing worldwide.

Nisha Parti formerly produced Paddy Considine-fronted attribute thriller Honour in Addition to the adaptation of Sathnam Sanghera’s The Boy with the Topknot using Kudos for BBC Two. She previously worked with David Heyman and has been the first man to see the unpublished manuscript of Harry Potter, that result in Heyman securing the movie rights for Heyday Pictures and Warner Bros.

Parti will work closely together with Wayne Garvie, President, International Production, SPT, at the United Kingdom and Nina Lederman, the recently appointed EVP, Global Scripted Development and Programming, located in Los Angeles. She has a lot of TV projects in development using BBC Drama plus a characteristic together with Film 4 and also is operating with talent such as John Hodge, Patrick Harbinson, Peter Moffat and Dev Patel on Indian set jobs alongside emerging brand new Asian authors and writers.

“Nisha’s innate understanding of the British Indian experience, her proven ability to identify commercially viable projects and her skill in developing and packaging them for multicultural audiences around the world will be a huge asset to SPT. We couldn’t be more excited to collaborate with her,” explained Garvie.
