‘Veep’ Creator Armando Iannucci Groups With ‘Intouchables’ Producer Yann Zenou on Comedy ‘Sumo’
“Veep” creator Armando Iannucci has teamed with “Intouchables” and “Demise of Stalin” producer Yann Zenou on a coming-of-age theatrical characteristic comedy set on the planet of novice sumo wrestling. Rocket Science is dealing with worldwide gross sales on the European Movie Market.
Iannucci will act as government producer. Different producers, alongside Zenou, on the mission are Emily Leo, Oliver Roskill, Ado Yoshizaki Cassuto and Gianluca Chakra. “Sumo” follows the story of Jonah, a silver tongued and chubby child with low vanity who meets Hana, a Japanese feminine janitor at his college – and an ex-sumo wrestler. Together with a pedantic and friendless constructing supervisor, this unlikely trio set about constructing a “dohjo” the place they practice for the U.S. Sumo Open.
American Japanese actor Suzy Nakamura from HBO’s “Avenue 5” and ABC’s “Dr. Ken” has dedicated for the position of Hana. The script was written by Richard Galazka. Natalie Bailey, who directed episodes of “Run” for HBO, will direct the movie.
