‘West Side Story’ Defends Actor At Center Of Protests Outdoor Broadway Theater
Broadway’s West Side Story is coming to the defense of throw member Amar Ramasar, that has been in the middle of continuing protests outside the theater over a sexually explicit photograph the celebrity had shared with his girlfriend 2018 when both were members of New York City Ballet. Ramasar, that performs Bernardo, the chief of the Sharks gang in West Side Story, was among three guys fired in 2018 in New York City Ballet after warrior Alexandra Waterbury accused them of sharing sexually explicit photographs of her and the other female dancer with no women’s permission. Ramasar was later reinstated after a marriage arbitration and is still a member of this ballet company.

The first allegations were made in a suit filed by Waterbury where she accused her former boyfriend, dancer Chase Finlay, of sending sexually explicit photographs of her Ramasar and another man warrior. Ramasar, according to the lawsuit, then delivered a photograph of his girlfriend, also a priest, to Finlay. (The suit, seeking damages, is continuing.)
